Ingredients
- Potatoes – 4 (Medium Size)
- Corn flour – 50 gm
- Bread crumbs – 50 gm (optional)
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper – 1/2 tsp (optional)
- Oregano (optional) – 1/2 tsp
- Crushed green chili – 1/2 tsp
- Chopped green coriander – 1 tsp
- Oil for deep frying
Cooking Instructions
- Take 4 medium-sized potatoes and wash them thoroughly. Peel the skin off.
- Use a grater to finely grate the potatoes.
- Wash the grated potatoes 3-4 times in clean water to remove excess starch.
- Squeeze the grated potatoes well to ensure no water remains.
- In a mixing bowl, add grated potatoes, corn flour, bread crumbs, salt, black pepper, crushed green chili, oregano, and chopped green coriander. Mix everything well to form a uniform mixture.
- Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan or wok. Once the oil is hot, carefully drop the potato balls into it.
- Fry them on medium flame until they turn golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fried potato popcorns and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
